What Is FullGear Illumination?
FullGear Illumination is our name for the Swiss-made tritium tube system (GTLS – Gaseous Tritium Light Source) used across all FullGear watches. Unlike glow-in-the-dark paint or battery-powered backlights, tritium doesn’t need recharging or activation. It glows continuously—24 hours a day, for up to 25 years.
Inside each tiny glass tube is a low-pressure gas called tritium, a self-luminous isotope of hydrogen. As tritium decays, it releases low-energy beta particles that excite a phosphorescent coating on the inside of the tube. The result? A steady, cool glow that never fades—no light exposure, no button, no battery.
